Lancashire UFC Fighter Mile Wilkinson doesn't mince his words when talking about his Swedish opponent Niklas Backstrom in his last week of fight camp.
Wilkinson who wasn't altogether happy that the unbeaten Swede had said of him, he was only being brought over to Stockholm to lose stated "He's a lanky streak of piss, and I'm going to knock his chin into the crowd"
"He disrespected me, he disrespected England, so I'm going to teach him a lesson on Saturday the 4th October, I'm ready, i'm very confident and excited and I just want to get in there after a long layoff and do it"
Wilkisnon (8-1), who started his UFC career on The Ultimate Fighter "the Smashes" in Dec 2012 beating teammate and fellow Brit Brendan Loughnane is coming off a long layoff following injury and a loss to Rony Mariano Bezerra on UFC on Fuel TV 10 in Brazil in June 2013, and so is keen to get down to business in Stockholm and securing himself the win.
"Backstrom can try take the fight anywhere he wants i am ready for it. I'll break him before he breaks me, he's a cheeky bastard saying what he said, I am not the same fighter who fought Rony Jason. I'm an animal and I'm going to take his chin off."
Wilkinson who trains out of Atherton Submission Wrestling under MMA and wrestling coach Daren Morris, has added a second Darren Morris to his coaching line up for this fight camp. Morris number two, who has been Michael Bisping's Muay Thai coach for the last several years spent time with Wilkinson to sharpen up his Thai and striking skills.
"He's a great kid" says Morris, he's strong, fast and powerful, he is really good in all areas"
