SANDEE fighters Daitan Jackson and Tyler Liptrott win at Fighting Machines

Team SANDEE Muay Thai fighters Daitan Jackson and Tyler Liptrott both get wins at Fighting Machines 9

Daitan Jackson made an impressive return to the ring after an 18 month period off, stopping Spanish Champion Roman Marcial in the 3rd round, at Fighting Machines 9.

Daitan who had been a SANDEE sponsored fighter since 2009 took time off to start a family, start a business and buy and renovate the family  home. But after getting a break from the sport and the arduous training and fighting regime incurred from 2009 to 2012 where he won British, European and World titles, the heavy hitting Salford welterweight Muay Thai fighter had the urge to return to fighting once more.

Before the fight the laid back Daitan said of his opponent

"I don't know much about him, I know he's Spanish and that's all I know really. I'm not really worried about the fight, I am just concentrating on getting back into it and getting fit, I think being fit at the moment is the most important thing"

If Jackson did have the fitness to go a full 5 rounds of A Class Muay Thai after an 18 month lay off we weren't going to see it this time, as he stopped his Spanish opponent in the 3rd.

The Spanish fighter was awkward and scrappy and the fight was mostly about trading punches and elbows from the first round. Jackson who was rough but ready with a degree of ring rust evident still got the better of the exchanges however eventually stopping the Spaniard with punches in the 3rd round to get the win.

Salford's Daz Morris, coach to both Daitan and Tyler who is also UFC Fighter Mike Bipsing's muay thai coach said this of his experienced fighter and his up and coming star:

"Daitan got a good win against an awkward fighter after a long lay off, we are going to see if we can get him another fight before the next Main Event, but we were pleased with the performance."

Meanwhile earlier on in the card, SANDEE fighter Tyler Liptrott got another win as he continues to progress and impress. The 16 year old showed great composure agaisnt and Bradford's Frank Howarth who came out swinging from the first bell.  Liptrott stuck to solid technique with great knees from the clinch throughout the fight and was the clear winner on the scorecards.
