SANDEE Academy junior Corey McLachlan from Glasgow Scotland, added another Thai boxing belt to his growing collection this weekend.
Corey, aged 13 and son of Number 1 ranked UK Super Feather Weight Keith McLachlan took the Junior Awakening Series European Title against highly regarded dutch junior Wassim Amazigh.
Corey started the bout in his usual style of working out his opponent. Once he had realised that wassim was as adept in his scoring as Corey was it became a bit of a formality with corey building a huge lead in body kicks, knees and take downs.
By the 3rd round Corey was to far ahead and too skilled in muay thai for the Dutch fighter to come up with any ideas on how to deal with Coreys counter fighting style.
Corey won a landslide victory gaining a belt to add to is vast aray of titles, 1x World, 4x European, 6x British, 9x Scottish, 2x Celtic and 1 Commonwealth titles

Making it a family affair, Corey's little brother Reece also fought on the same show, also against Dutch opposition, for an the 26kg Awakening International challenge title.His opponent was in the form of Quinn Gerlach of Gerlach Gym.
In an evenly contested bout Reece came out on top with a strong 3rd and 4th round, making it a good day out for the Fighting family McLachlans.
