SANDEE Academy Fighter Jordan Williams emerged the victor after a tough fight against against Mikey Russell
Unity 2 - Thai fight went down a storm at the at the Prestigious Hardwick Hall, Sedgefield, Co Durham and is quickly shaping up to be the The North East's Premier Thai Boxing Event .
Headlining under full Muay Thai Rules was Reece Mcallister (Phoenix) against Jackson Barkhouse (Maryport Dragons), with Macallister cementing his place as one of the best 66kg fighters anywhere, ending the fight in Round 2 with a huge flurry of aggressive punching followed by a massive right elbow which was sure to have broken the jaw of Barkhouse who was holding his own in round 1.
See the elbow finish from Reece in the video clip at the end of this article.
HEADLINING FIGHT REECE MCALLISTER (PHOENIX) IS VICTORIOUS
JORDAN WILLIAMS VS MIKEY RUSSELL
Our eyes were on Jordan Williams however. One of our SANDEE Academy fighters Jordan Williams is one of the rising stars of the North East Thai Boxing Scene
Jordan who trains out of Erawan Gym under Steven Wright, got a narrow points win that saw back and forth strikes from both fighters with Jordan getting the nod from the judges.
The fight was closely matched with both fighters taking probably a few more risks that usual which was probably down the headguards and shinpads required as it was a junior UKMF sanctioned fight. Jordan showed some flashes of real talent and although took a few shots showed enough for the judges to award the win.
A much relieved Jordan said afterwards, 'it wasn't my best performance this time, but i am glad i did enough".
